  1. Our sincere condolences, but also a time to celebrate his faith, service to his country, his love for his family and his zest for life. May God’s promises comfort you all during this time.

  2. Dearest Vicki;
    What an accomplished life your dad lived and what a beautiful family he had in all of you. May all the wonderful memories you shared for so many years bring you peace and comfort. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Mary

  3. One of the finest families we’ve ever known. We became great friends beginning at Gresham Park Baptist Church in 1955. Their children baby sat our children many times and the friendship continued throughout their childhood. We spent many week-ends camping together and always going to church together wherever we camped. Many fond memories of Merle and A.C., Linda and Vicki.

  4. Loving wishes and sympathy to all the family. He and Merle were a wonderful, loving couple and they made me very welcome into their home any time. Rest in peace, Love

  5. How lucky to have your father so many years. I only met him once, but he was a lovely man. He was fortunate to have such loving in and caring daughters. May he rest in peace.

    With love,
    Irene and Ron Berard

  10. What a kind, gentle and honorable man! I consider it an honor to have known him. He was a patient of Dr. Charles McCrory and I was his dental hygienist for many years. We often talked about the Georgia Bulldogs and his family whom he loved so dearly. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him. God Bless His Soul.

  11. So sorry we missed this earlier. We had the pleasure of assisting Mr. Avery with Meals on Wheels from time to time. Mr. Avery was probably our favorite stop! We have missed and will miss him. He and Oliver were always a treat!!

    Our condolences to the family.

  12. Our family is so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Avery. He was our neighbor for many years on Kenvilla Drive. My husband enjoyed talking with him while they were out in the yard. He was such a wonderful neighbor in every way. Merle was also such a blessing to us. Even after I moved to Melbourne 2 years ago, he often called and would walk over when I came back for visits. What a blessing they were to so many. May God comfort you and provide peace for your family in the days ahead. With heartfelt sorrow & sympathy for your loss.
