  6. The world needs more Gene McBrides. His kindness and civility to all were more than mere politeness. When you love Jesus like Gene did it impacts behavior. I’m grateful that our paths crossed and Vicki and will certainly keep his family in our prayers.

  9. HE WAS A GREAT FRIEND TO OUR FAMILY AND HE, JULIA, THOM AND BARBARA ARRENDALE ALONG WITH THEIR SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS LIFTED MY FAMILY UP IN PRAYER SO MANY TIMES WHEN THREE OF US SISTERS WERE BATTLING CANCER SEVERAL YEARS AGO. Julia, I pray God’s comfort over you.

  13. I didn’t know Mr. McBride well, but I know how great a dad and husband he was and that’s all I need to know. Rest in perfect peace.

  14. Rest in Peace Mr. McBride your legacy of compassion, love and Kindness lives on. I’m a witness to that thru your daughter Barbara. My payer is that God comforts this family in their time of need.

  16. I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. McBride, but I am a colleague and friend to his wonderful daughter Barbara. If Barbara is half the person Mr. McBride was, then the world and community will sorely miss him and is spirit. My prayers are with you at this time. Please know, you will be comforted and loved. Bless this family.

  17. Praying the Peace of God be with all of the family. Gene was a very good man and an example of a Godly servant. He and I were friends years ago at the Bethel Family Church in Decatur. I am thankful to have had the pleasure to know Gene and to be influenced by his faithfulness in serving our Heavenly Father.

  18. Gene’s legacy will live on in all the lives of those he touched. For to know Gene was to know a man who was faithful to the Lord and who served Him well. We would like to express our deepest sympathy to Julia and family for their loss and pray for God’s comfort and peace during this time of your loss and in the days ahead.

  19. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Gene’s wonderful family. He is at home with our Lord and Saviour, free from pain and in God’s glory. Our current pastor just did a sermon on living in the favor of God through radical generosity, radical humility, radical obedience and radical forgiveness. Gene McBride was certainly a man who enjoyed God’s favor. Prayers for peace in Gene’s memories. With love, Richard and Sandi Rackleff

  20. To the wonderful McBride family
I did not have the pleasure of getting to know Gene, however I do know his wife and his beatiful daughters. They are people I’ve come to know well and I am pleased and honored to call them friends.. at this time of your loss there are no words that could soothe your hearts at this great loss. But because I know all of you so well I feel confident in saying you will see him again,,,and he will be as you remember him running to meet you with no breathing issues.. take comfort in that thought.. it is but a short separation.

  21. A role model human being is an understatement. Uncle Gene was what all of us should strive to be in every aspect of life. You will be truly missed by so many. Fly high. I know you are watching down on so many of us loved ones and that is comforting.

  22. CandleImageMy wife Carolyn Jones-Kelly and I and our family were wonderfully blessed by the life of Gene McBride. Gene and his beloved wife Julia were the classic example of what it means to be great in The Kingdom of GOD: They Served! They both loved The LORD with all of their hearts and they loved the LORD’s people. We counted it a privilege to have served with Gene and Julia McBride as Elders at Bethel Family Church during the ministry’s formative days. Our prayers are with the McBride family. Brother Gene, “You fought the good fight; you finished your course, and you kept the Faith!” We look forward to seeing you again in Eternity. Love Always, George and Carolyn “Cookie” Kelly and Family
