June 2, 1968 ~ July 15, 2019

Born in: Georgetown, KY
Resided in: Lawrenceville, GA

James Edward Patterson 51 passed away suddenly on Monday, July 15th, 2019 at the Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville.  His funeral service will be held on Friday, July 26th from 11:00am-1:00pm at Wages and Sons Funeral Homes located at 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA. 30043. James was born on June 2nd, 1968 to the late Ethridge and Betty Jo Patterson.  He worked for Sprint as an IT Supervisor Production Operations for over 18 years.  James was married to his wife Kimberly and had a beautiful little girl Samantha.  He was a hard working and dedicated husband and father.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, his pal Newman and had a passion for cars. My husband was such a wonderful and loving man.  I’m not sure I can really express just how much I am going to miss him.  James’ greatest strength was the ability to make everyone feel comfortable and at ease.  We have been together close to 20 years and have been married for almost 14 of them.  I will cherish all the wonderful memories of him with much happiness. James was always a gentleman and always put the needs of others ahead of himself.  His joviality and good nature attracted people the moment he walked in the room, and no one could forget his witty remarks and contagious smile. Born in Kentucky, his love for cars started at a very young age with his dad and continued onwards with his daughter Samantha.  James loved spending time at the racetracks, going to car events and cruising with his Mopar family.  His most prized possession was his daughter Samantha.  James was a wonderful father to her and I loved watching him be a part of her daily life and activities.  He was also a hard working and giving man.  Not only was he committed to his job – working long hours, he also gave back to the community through charity events.  He also encouraged us to be involved in life; he brought out the best in us all. James was my soul mate, my best friend and my inspiration – my steadfast rock that helped me through the good and bad times.  He loved and supported us all, and was always there to help navigate through life’s challenges.  James was taken from us way too soon.  He may be in heaven now but I know he’s looking down on us all with a big smile on his face.  James was survived by his wife Kimberly, daughter Samantha, brother Randy and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  I will not say goodbye but until we meet again.  I love you my sweet husband, Rest In Peace my love. 41. Kimberly and Sammie, so sorry to hear of your loss. James was taken far too soon. I always enjoyed the photos he shared of you and Sammie on Facebook and Instagram. It was totally obvious he adored you both.

  42. James was my roommate in Americus while I was at Georgia Southwestern State Univ. and in the Atlanta area (we lived in Norcross). There are so many stories I have from the many Braves games and the many concerts we went to together. We worked at Jumpin Johnny’s liqour store in Americus in the early 90’s. There are also so many random daily stories that come back to me from just living with him for a few years. He was always such a caring and loving person. This memories will live on in me forever and how I will cherish them even more now. He loved Kimberly as much as I have ever seen a man love a woman. She loved him the same. He will be dearly missed by all of us but I am sure mostly by his wife and daughter. God rest his soul.

  43. Kimberly, we love you and we’re praying for you and Sammie in this harrowing time. I am so sorry for your devastating loss.

  44. James was well regarded and respected by everyone who worked with him during his 18 years at sprint. He was dedicated and talented leader and always a top performer. As a team members we could always rely on James to help get the job done no matter how complex it was. As a friend we could always look forward to his positive and joyful personality to make our day better. Above all he was a loving husband and father. We all enjoyed the stories he shared about his family like going to the Father Daughter dance and Tae Kwon Do practice with Sammie or traveling to Canada to visit his wife Kimberly’s side of the family. He will be missed and remembered forever by those of us who were blessed to have known him.

  45. During our countlest years together at Sprint and Nextel, he was always kind and knowledgeable. I will miss his calmness when trying to drive resolution on a system issue. God speed my friend.
Love and prayers to you and your family.

  46. James was always a welcome voice over our conference calls and in meetings during our many years at Nextel, then Sprint. James is already deeply missed! Kimberly and Sammie, please know he spoke of you and his adventures often and I could tell he adored you! It was lovely to hear… Loving thoughts and prayers are with you and his family. 49. It started when I helped James order his Challenger. We could tell right away that we were cut from the same cloth. We even got to share some track time together about 4 years ago. James never had a cross word to say about anyone, and always saw both sides of the story, no matter which side he was on. My heart goes out to everyone lucky enough to have known him. Rest In Peace, my friend.

  50. Man James , I still can’t believe your gone. We were friends for over 20 years. I hope that I was good friend to you over the years. I can’t count the times we ate at Hooters. You , Sean , and I had some late nights as well. I will keep those stories between us. I take pleasure in knowing how happy you were if life. You had the family you always wanted and loved. You will be missed bud.

May you find peace & comfort in your beautiful memories of time spent with him. Love to you all!
