Jay D. Schnierle Obituary The Lord was in need of another good soul, and he got one. Jay D. Schnierle, 80, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2018. Survived by his wife of 60 years, 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren – he left a lasting legacy. As a career Army veteran, Jay spent 20 years serving the country he loved. He saw the world with many stops both here and abroad, including 2 tours in Vietnam. This man was a proud soldier, serving with great respect for his country and his fellow man. After retiring from the service, Jay went back to school and earned his Master’s Degree, which allowed him to fulfill his desire to become a professor and teach Business Management. From there, he spent over a decade in the Civil Service. His passion for golf, bowling and love of animals gave him so much joy and peace. Jay enjoyed time with his wife, being a loving father and sharing his life experiences with his many grandchildren. There will be a private military service held at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his honor to Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia Chapter, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346 or Humane Society, 1255 23rd Street, NW Suite 450, Washington, DC 20037
