Tammi Renee Stewart, a loving wife of 28 years and a wonderful mother to three, 50, passed away on Wednesday, August 21st in her home after a 19-year war of attrition with ocular melanoma. She was born on November 4th, 1968 in Tucson, Arizona to Samuel Goggin and Doraine Gargis. She was a graduate of Georgia Southern University and a Special Education teacher in the Gwinnet County Public School System. Tammi married Charles Darin Stewart on July 27, 1991. He currently resides in Braselton, Georgia. Also surviving are a daughter, Abbey Stewart, and two sons, John Stewart and David Stewart. Funeral services for Tammi Stewart will be Saturday, August 24th at Wages & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Glenn Grantham officiating. Visitation is on Saturday from 1-2 PM while the service starts at 2 PM with a reception to follow.

  1. I loved Tammi and her whole family so much! To be able to work with Tammi for 13 years was a blessing. She was always kind and loving to everyone she came in contact with. She loved her job and her students tremendously. I will be praying for her family during this very difficult time. Tammi……I will see you again one day. I know this because of your love for Jesus.   18. First knew Tammi when her kids came to North Metro Preschool and later the recreation program. Then, had the pleasure of meeting and catching up with this sweet lady to get through staff development . She always had a special smile and loved her precious 3 kids and husband. A wonderful gracious lady who gives and serves all of her kids. Praying for her sweet family.

  20. I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Tammi. I knew her when she attended York High School in Yorktown VA and had the pleasure of finding her again through Facebook. She was a good friend and very sweet person. My condolences to her family.

  21. My heat is broken for y’all! Many prayers for y’all!! We had some fantastic times watching our boys play ball. Memories we will never forget. This is a tough thing to endure. Lean on God His grace an love can be comforting. Love you guys. If you need anything I’m here.

  25. Tammi, my beautiful, sweet cousin whom I’ve adored since I visited her, Doraine, Sam and Brian in Germany when she was only four years old! Not surprising, she grew into an amazing, lovely, godly woman dedicated to her family and ministry to teaching children. She was an inspiration as she valiantly walked through her illness with such a great attitude and dignity! We will forever be grateful for her exemplary life and the wonderful ways she loved others, in spite of it. We pray for Supernatural strength and comfort to carry the family through this very sad time!

  26. I am so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine how difficult this must be. I knew Tammi when we were teenagers at First Assembly in Warner Robins. She was always so pleasant and always had a smile for everyone she met.
