Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Sending our prayers and deepest sympathy from AZ. Tom was a wonderful servant helping in so many areas where we had the privilege of working with him. He was dedicated to his family and to those less fortunate. May he rest with the Angels in Eternal Peace.

  2. Tom led a wonderful life, and I followed him to work at Delta. We had the same flight instructor in Primary pilot training, along with Bill Meredith. That doesn’t seem so long ago, but it’s been a lifetime. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to the family.

  3. I flew with Tom a number of times as copilot. It’s the combination of good pilot and nice guy that you remember most fondly and he was tops on both accounts.

  4. May Tom’s soul Rest In peace and may perpetual light shine upon him. We did not him well, but saw a gentle man who loved and cared for his family, and was a dedicated SVdP worker. Our prayers are with those who remain who miss him.

  5. Sincere sympathy from Tom Harmon.
Dave Conley and I used to play golf with him until we all retired from Delta & moved .Played courses around Rockdale County and Hard Labor State Park.

  6. Dear Family,
I had the pleasure and privilege of being Tom’s copilot in January 1978 when Tom was a captain on the DC 9. Tom was an excellent pilot, and I learned much form him during our month together and he was a mentor to young copilots like me as we were learning “the ropes” on the DC9.
Tom was a leader and a good teacher. I will always be grateful for his calm and easy demeanor.
    May he rest in peace.
    Sincerely

  7. Mr. Moser…..I so know the feeling. I too had the same pleasure and peace of mind when he was my PIC/PNF.
He always felt that a good crew commander was only as good as his crew. I know he felt as fond of you as you did of him. thank you so much for your sharing and kind memories of him.
    David McMurry

  8. We were very saddened to hear of the passing of Your dear husband and father. Tom was a great example of a good and decent gentleman. I was always impressed by his easy and friendly manner. Although we have been gone from the Lilburn area since 2002 Tom and Beth remain in my memory bank of treasures. May God continue to Bless you and and comfort your family at this sad and difficult time. Tom will be in my thoughts and prayers during this special and holy time.

  9. Tom and I sat next to each other in 1966 in the initial hiring class at Delta……he became a good and trusted friend……To the family I join you in mourning, however I believe he is in a better place, enjoying the benefits of our Lord…….

  10. David, I just learned of your Dad’s passing. Please know that you and youyr entire family are in the thoughts and prayers of your Lanier Tech work family. I pray the Peace of God that passes all understanding witll rest upon you and your entire family during this time.

  13. So very sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. I remember fondly the time spent with the McMurry family all those years ago in Hearthstone. Regret we did not remain closer in recent years.

  14. Deepest sympathies are extended to the family of Captain Tom McMurray on behalf of Delta Golden Wings (DGW), a fraternity of retired and active Delta pilots. Tom carried thousands upon thousands of passengers on their life travels during a 30 year career. We who flew with Tom and who knew him as a friend are saddened by his passing, but we will recall him with a smile of joy that we were privileged to share his time.
