Atlanta, GA
Annie W. Stublefield, PhD passed away peacefully on September 3, 2020. She was born June 1, 1945 in Columbus, GA to Benjamin and Lousiana Henderson. Her family moved from Columbus to Atlanta in 1954. She was educated in the Clayton county school system and graduated salutatorian. She held a lifelong passion for learning. Her degrees included a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science, Master of Science in Counseling Psychology, and Doctorate of Philosophy.
Annie was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for her family and others. She was a member of various volunteer organizations throughout the Atlanta metro area. She taught yoga, jazzercise classes and enjoyed serving the handicap and geriatric communities. She worked for AT&T in numerous departments during her 35 years of service and retired as a telecommunications manager.
She was quite open about her mortality. Many conversations focused on how to celebrate her transition from one wonderful life to another life of higher calling. Her life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” She often advised that there is a time for birth and time for what is called death, so cease not your normal activities of daily living.. and join me by celebrating my “NEW LIFE”. Celebrate my death with quiet joy!
Annie was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Louisana Henderson, two brothers, Eddie and Ben Henderson, and grandson Randy. She is survived by daughters Debbie (Patrick), Robin(Jose), her sister Minnie(William), her brother Robert (Gwen), her grandchildren, Scott, Morgan, Christopher and Chase, and a host of nieces, nephews , cousins, other relatives and friends.
Please join us on Friday morning September 11, 2020 from 11:00am- 12:00pm for a Celebration of Life service.
