David H. Connell

David Hamilton Connell, was born on Friday, March 16th, 1934 in Mayers Land, Bank Hall, St Michaels in Barbados, from Erie and Evelyn Connell. David was the ninth of ten children. He loved sports and was a boxer in his 20’s then became a dental assistant, and in latter years, a semi- professional cricket player. He and his wife Bernice opened their own store after they retired. He fell ill with Alzheimers and after nearly 10yrs of being cared for at home, he succumbed to complications of the illness and died in their home in Georgia, on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022. David is survived by his wife, Bernice, children: Adrian, Ann, Annette, David Jr, Doreen, Gealise, Georgette, Judy, Patsy, Rosemary, Rupert, Shalom, twenty- eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. “Bucky” as he was fondly called in the district of Bank Hall where he grew up, was a lover of all things calypso. He was an easy man to get along with, and was loved by all. He will be greatly missed. He will be attended by Wages and Sons Funeral Home in Stone Mountain, Georgia, where he will be cremated. His life will be celebrated with family and friends via zoom on January 16th at 2pm.
