Doug Soper of Dacula, Ga, died early Sunday morning on February 2, 2014. First and foremost, he was a devoted follower of Christ and tried to set a good example in his daily life. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He always seemed to be able to find levity in every situation and passed on this wonderful sense of humor to his children and grandchildren. He was honorably discharged from the Navy and then went on to a career with BellSouth from which he retired. He is survived by his wife Sharon and son John, of Dacula, his daughter, Colette of Mooresville, NC and three grandchildren, Hudson of Japan, and Ben and Jess of Charlotte NC. We will greatly miss his affection, intelligence and wit but know that he is now with the Lord, who he loved so much.

I am the supervisor of OTC. We enjoyed getting to know Mr. Soper and he was a joy to take care of! He will be missed. May God give you peace and strength to get through this time.
Doug was a kind man and I am very sorry to hear of his passing. He is also survived by a beautiful granddaughter named Sara Renee (Soper) Gable, 22, from his son Eric Soper, and a great grand daughter named Amina Renee. Given the chance, I’m sure he would have loved them very much. His family is welcome to contact me any time.
Suzanne – not sure you will see this, however, I would love to be in contact with you. Yes, absolutely, my dad loved Sara and would have loved Amina.
