Born in: Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania
Resided in: Buford, Georgia

Edward Frank Douglas, 73, of Buford Georgia, passed away peacefully in Cumming, Georgia on April 21, 2024, after spending the day with his wife and children by his side.

Edward was born on July 5,1950, to parents Charles Edward Douglas and Lucetta Margaret Douglas in Pittsburgh, PA. Ed spent his youth in Pennsylvania before moving to Ohio to start his own family and to begin his career in computer technologies before eventually bringing his family to settle in Georgia. His father, Charles Douglas, preceded his passing.

Edward is survived by his mother, Lucetta Douglas, 95, of Butler, PA, and by his wife of 23 years, Linda Elaine Douglas of Buford, GA. Ed is further survived by his three beloved sons, Edward Frank Douglas II and wife Kelly Douglas of Grove City, OH, David Brian Douglas and partner Jennifer Frizzell of Stone Mountain, GA, Steven Andrew Douglas and wife Mistin Douglas of Winder, GA, and stepson Brian Douglas Richardson and partner Pim Ackley of Henderson, NV.

Edward also was a devoted grandfather, and his legacy continues with his grandchildren Katelyn Douglas, Madison Douglas, and Ryan Edward Douglas of Grove City, OH along with Connor Steer, Peyton Warrick, Logan Pruitt, and Aiden Hines of Georgia. Ed was also a doting great-grandfather of Irelyn and Opal Thompson of Westerville, OH.

Ed was the oldest of all his siblings and his memory will continue with his brother Charles, sister Peggy, and their youngest brother Paul along with their prospective spouses and his numerous nieces and nephews.

All who knew Ed knew he loved to make people laugh. He was always ready with a joke and loved to give his boys a hard time, especially when he got them all together. Some of his favorite pastimes were spending time with his family while enjoying backyard barbecues by the pool, watching Steelers football, and collecting rare coins. Ed also loved taking his family on vacation to Walt Disney World as often as he could. Ed was the backbone of his family and always put his family’s needs before his own. Ed may have left his world behind, but his legacy will live on with his family forever.

The family will host Ed’s celebration of life and memorial service on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Wages and Sons located at 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA, 30046, from 6:00-8:00pm. As Ed was a loving dog-dad, the family suggests that all donations be made to the Humane Society in lieu of flowers. https://secured.humanesociety.org/page/81880/donation/1?ea.tracking.id=web_topnav&_gl=1*v2rhuj*_ga*MTY2NTY2Mzk2My4xNzEzOTgyNTQw*_ga_DGPX92WLR5*MTcxMzk4MjU0MC4xLjEuMTcxMzk4MjU0MS4wLjAuODA4OTczMTk5*_fplc*NyUyQmhBZ0dHczNsQkVGanFvakpEVThxRnlidTFNb05wTW1NaTZUYm0lMkJrRnJ5a0xHa0NBRXAlMkJUcmwlMkJjRjBSWE04V0clMkJ4JTJCSjVWUjM3aHluZnpIbUlOM3B0Mms2M3hzOXBCcjRZbWJmTnRPRmRORFdRWVUyNDBDMFd6JTJGZWZiZUElM0QlM0Q.

  2. I’ve known Ed most of my life. He took me into his family arms wide open and always treated me as his daughter. He regularly told me he loved me, which meant the world to me. I will miss our talks, his voice, his big bear hugs, and his love he had for his family. Rest easy Ed🕊️

  3. CandleImageI haven’t had the opportunity to meet Linda or Ed in person, but they’ve always held a special place in my heart. Learning about Ed’s passing has left me deeply saddened, but I take solace in knowing that he’s now in a better place than we are.

Linda, during this difficult time, please remember that you have a loving support system of family and friends who will always be there for you. Stay strong, knowing that you are surrounded by those who care deeply about you.

  4. I’m grateful I was fortunate enough to have worked with Ed for many years. He had a great sense of humor and was such a caring and kind person. May he rest in peace. God bless.
My deepest sympathies to his family.
