Evelyn Allen Jones, died on Feb 4, 2016 at Gwinnett Medical Center due to complications from a fall. She was born April 18, 1919 to Early and Lucy Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bevel Jones, and a sister, Isla Allen King. She is survived by her son, Michael D. Jones and daughter-in-law, Anne-Marie Jones. She has one granddaughter, Micheline Callicott and one Great Grandson, Theo Callicott. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Evelyn, known to many as “Ebbie”, has always lived in Stone Mountain, GA. She was retired from the Southern Railway where she was employed for over 30 years. One of her many loves was the Order of the Eastern Star where she has served faithfully her whole life. She has served in many stations in that organization serving as Worthy Matron several times for the Stone Mountain Chapter 205 Order of the Eastern Star. She also was Grand Chaplin of the Grand Order of the Eastern Star of Georgia. She participated diligently in all of their activities. Ms. Jones had many talents that she shared. She was very accomplished in artwork and crafts. She was always working on projects for the Eastern Star of Georgia and the community. “Ebbie” was also a renowned baker. The town fought over her carrot cake and her coconut cake, to list just a few of her specialities. Ms. Jones and her husband loved to travel in their camper and visited all 50 states. She loved her husband, son and family, and was a lifetime member of the Stone Mountain First Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. at Wages & Sons Stone Mountain Chapel with Dr. Dan Parker, Rev. Ken Magness and Rev. Wesley Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Stone Mountain Cemetery. Visitation for Ebbie will be Saturday, February 6th from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at Wages & Sons. . In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyn’s memory may be made to your favorite charity.
