Graham Hall Oakley, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, at the age of 82. His life was a testament to love, dedication, and resilience.

Born on March 19, 1942, in Durham, North Carolina, Graham grew up on his grandmother’s farm, where he developed a strong work ethic and an enduring appreciation for family and tradition. As a freshman in high school in his mother’s hometown of Franklinton, he met the love of his life, Shirley, who would become his devoted wife of 64 beautiful years. They married on his 18th birthday, embarking on a lifelong journey of love and partnership.

Graham’s entrepreneurial spirit and creative mind led him to a successful career in the mortgage banking industry. Relocating to Atlanta, he built a thriving career as a business owner and real estate investor. His sharp intellect, self-taught expertise, and charismatic nature earned him respect and admiration among his peers.

A devoted family man, Graham was the proud patriarch of his family. He always placed family first, providing unwavering love, support, and guidance. He was especially devoted to his mother, Elizabeth, and cherished his role as a brother to his siblings. Graham’s generosity knew no bounds, and he prided himself on being a dependable source of strength during challenging times.

A patriot at heart, Graham had immense affection for his country and a deep respect for veterans, whom he admired for their service and sacrifice.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Langston and Raymond Oakley; his brothers, Thomas and Billy Oakley; and his sister, Gary Murray.

Graham is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Oakley; his loving daughters, Jackie Oakley, Alicia Oakley, and Natalie Oakley; and his cherished granddaughter, Lindsey Currie. His memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to those who knew and loved him.

A graveside service will be held to honor Graham’s remarkable life at 2:00PM on Friday, January 31st, 2025 at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to local veteran organizations in Graham’s memory, a tribute to his enduring respect for those who have served our country.

Graham’s legacy of love, leadership, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.

I always got excited every Christmas cause I can see you and Shirley, Natalie, Jackie and Alisha. Not because of presents. Lol. Don’t mean to joke, just wanted to say I’m sorry for your loss. He recorded every Christmas of the family. I remember when I was younger me and my brother stayed I think 1 week or 2 weeks in Georgia with Graham Shirley Alisha Jack Natalie. That was fun. Rest in peace uncle Graham and tell my daddy I love him tell Grandma I love her tell Thomas I love him and aunt Gary I love her. I will see you again in the after life.
