Born in: Gadsden, Alabama
Resided in: Clarkston, Georgia

On Monday, October 18, 2021, the Lord called home another one of his special angels. Irene Rainey (Douglass) was born on August 15, 1943. Her birthplace was Gadsden, AL. She navigated to Niagara Falls, NY as a young child and later made Atlanta, GA her home. “Blondie,” as she was referred to by her close friends, went home to her final resting place. We will all miss her humor and sharp tongue. One cannot be sad because Irene definitely lived life her way.

She is preceded in death by her husband Verles Rainey, daughter Chantel Miller, son Anthony Morris, sisters Dora Morris, Ernestine Brown and brother Lee Junior Morris. She is survived by daughters Debbie Hogan (David Hogan) and Jocelyn Douglass, sons Kevin Gibson, Donnie Douglass, and Freddie Douglass. Sisters Sue Willie Upson, Bernice Edwards and Pearl Glover.
She leaves behind for her legacy to be lived through her 23 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Along with a host of nieces & nephews.
