James Hubert Jiles, 80 years old, born October 28th, 1942, went home to his heavenly reward on October 10th, 2023. “Big Jim” was a proud Army Major who served two tours of duty in Vietnam, earning the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with a Silver Star, 2 Bronze Service Stars, as well as many other accommodation medals. In every role throughout his life, he always put others before himself.
“Big Jim” is survived by his bride Agnes, whom he voraciously loved for more than 52 years. She was, and always will be, the love of his life. In his marriage, he provided years of strength, hope, love, comfort, and devotion. She was, and always will be, his heart and soul.
He is survived by his four children, Susan Lemke (Wendy) of Minnesota, Jimmy Jiles (Sheila) of North Carolina, Mitzi Jiles of Atlanta, and Tommy Jiles (Ginger) of Atlanta. There was never a moment when they did not know that they were loved.
He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Seth, Kellyn, and Eliot, who treasured moments with their Grandpa and loved him immensely.
He is survived by his brother, Jerry Jiles (Sue) of Florida, as well as brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews throughout the country.
Trixie and Roxy, his canine companions, brought so much joy to his life.
What we will miss most is the sound of his voice, the way his smile brought joy, his love of sports, his love of a good meal, Hallmark movies, and how he loved love.
Services will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Tucker, Georgia on Saturday, October 14th at 11:00 AM.

I wish you peace and comfort as you grieve.
Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss.
Jim has always been a sweet and loving person just like his wife. I wish comfort and peace for the family during this time. You are all in my prayers.
I’m going to miss you Uncle Jim, you were a fine family man. Always putting your family first. And also, serving our country bravely and earned an officers commission. I am proud of the man you were, and the life you made raising a beautiful family.
God bless you Uncle Jim,
Your Nephew Chris
His memory will be a blessing for you! I’m sorry for your loss.
Thinking of you all and sending prayers and love ❤️
Jim was a wonderful man that loved his wife and family fiercely. Praying peace and love over Mitzi and the family as they navigate through this next chapter of their lives.
Jim was a faithful member of VFW Post 10822 Dunwoody Sandy Springs. He could always be counted on to man our Poppy Table. He will be missed.
I didn’t have the honour of getting to know Jim, unfortunately. But it’s been one of my greatest pleasures to have become close friends with his daughter, Mitzi. Judging by what an incredible soul she is, I can only assume the same was true of Jim.
My sincerely condolences to everyone whose heart Jim has touched. Sending prayers and love your way <3

So sorry for your loss Mitzi. May he rest in peace, my prayers for you and your family.
My condolences to Jim’s family. I remember him coming to the Atlanta/Kennesaw Geosyntec office so many times over the years, and I remember his strong spirit. Our prayers are with you all.
Thinking of you all. You are one of the sweetest families I have ever known. Hugs and prayers for all of you.
I love and miss you Uncle Jim.
One of those people who made the world a better place just by being there.
Mitzy, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. May you rejoice in his memory and find peace through your faith. When you are feeling down, close your eyes and hear him laugh. I will be thinking of you and will have you and your family in my prayers. I love you my sweet friend.
