Joseph Bernard Dowling, Sr., age 85, of Lilburn, GA passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017. He is preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Edna Dowling. He is survived by his children, Joseph B. Dowling, Jr., Patricia Dowling and Lynne Holbrook; Seven Grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 20, 2017 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 801 Tom Smith Rd SW, Lilburn, GA 30047 with Fr. Sunny Punnakuziyil, MSFS, officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers donation can be made in memory of Joseph to the American Cancer Society, 6500 Sugarloaf Pkwy, Duluth, GA 30097. With sympathy to all the Dowliings, It is so difficult to lose a Dad & Granddad, someone who has been with you and loved you for all of your life. He will never be forgotten as long as you keep him in your hearts.
I worked with Joe for many years at Bell Labs in North Carolina and Atlanta.He was an outstanding workmate at both locations.
I know he will be sorely missed by family and friends.My prayers to the family.
Joe was a regular customer of ours at Stonebridge Barbershop for over twenty years and I considered him as a true friend and gentleman. He will be sorely be missed my condolence to Patty and all the family.
