Mike George Davidson, 73, known to fiends and customers as ‘Mike the Plumber’, passed away on February 20th after a lengthy battle with cancer. Michael was born in Atlanta, grew up in Sylvan Hills and lived in Decatur for over 40 years as the owner of Midway Plumbing Company. Michael is the son of the late Virginia Hollinsworth Davidson of Bloomington, IN and Ruel Wyatt Davidson of Birmingham, AL. He is survived by his wife, Janet, his sisters Linda Suzanne ‘Susie’ Pounds (Frank) and Patricia ‘Patty’ Samples (Ronnie), his children and nieces, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Michael most enjoyed serving his customers and the residents of the neighborhood anytime there was a plumbing issue. He will be remembered for his wealth of experience and for his endless supply of stories and tall tales.
Graveside services will be held 1PM Friday February 25, 2022 at the Westview Cemetery in Atlanta with Dr. Dan Parker officiating.

Mike did dozens of plumbing jobs for me for over 28 years. Whenever I needed help whether it be during the week or on weekends, he would always make time for me. He really loved his work although he would always say “I hate plumbing”. He was wonderful and I will miss him.
