Resided in:
Dacula, GA
Michael “Mike” Gregory Davis, 62 of Dacula, GA, died September 14, 2024 at home. He was born on February 16 to Oyd and Bonnie Davis in Mississippi.
Mike graduated from Long Beach High School in 1980 in Long Beach, MS. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Southern Mississippi. After moving to Georgia, Mike earned his Master of Arts in Teaching from Brenau University.
He married the love of his life, Carolyn, in May of 1984. They celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary this year hiking at Brasstown Bald mountaintop, the highest point in Georgia.
Mike started his career at Ingall’s Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, MS. He found his passion for teaching after moving to Georgia and taught math at Richards Middle School in Gwinnett County for 22 years. He loved meeting his students as they were and helping them find their path in the world of mathematics and life. He poured into the Richards students and staff by serving them with knowledge, positive affirmations, continuous kindness, and a smile. His parting wisdom to fellow Richards staff was to “love them no matter what.”
Mike loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on the Atlanta Braves and the New Orleans Saints. Mike shone the light of Jesus everywhere he went and shared fatherly advice and wisdom to everyone he encountered.
Left to carry on Mike’s legacy is his wife Carolyn, his son Jeremy (Liza), and his daughter Natalie (Steven); grandchildren Hannah, Lydia, Wyndell, Noah, Atticus, Elias, Benton, and Madelyn; brothers Keith (daughters) and Mark (Rachel & sons); extended family Cathy, Alice, and Mary Elizabeth. His family looks forward to instilling his Christ-like legacy.
Mike’s celebration of life is on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Antioch Outpost (546 Treadwell Rd, Bethlehem, GA, 30620). The visitation will start at 12 PM with a service at 2 PM. There will be a reception for the family following the service.
For anyone unable to share in the celebration, please remember Mike and worship alongside him in song. Some of his favorite songs included * Don’t Stop Praying (Matthew West), * We’re Here for You (Jeremy Riddle), * This I Know (Aaron Shust), * We Crown You (Jeremy Riddle), * Lion (Elevation Worship)

A super good person that the Lord called home. I can remember that deep voice and friendly personality. Prayers for the family. God has him now
I was a teammate of Mike’s at Richards MS for many years. He spoke often about his family and the New Orlean Saints.
I remember the year a fellow teacher gave him a kidney so his life would continue.
Planet Earth has lost a good one. Rest in peace Mike
Edee and I did not have the pleasure of knowing Mr. Davis but do have the pleasure of knowing his son Jeremy and his family here in Harlem, Ga. Jeremy is a great contribution to our community and I know he made Mr. Davis proud. Edee and I are sorry for your loss and pray that great memories will flood your sorrow at the time and as they will in the future.
Thoughts and prayers to the Davis family and friends. May Mike’s light continue to shine through all that knew him. God Bless
Mike was always wonderful, fun and kind. We went to Long Beach High School together and enjoyed the Theatre Arts. Till we meet again, my friend…”I can only imagine”…
My heart goes out to all of you. Mike was such a bright light and kind soul. I’m so deeply sorry for your loss.
Thank you for sharing all of your stories with me about your family and upbringing. Thank you for also making my first year teaching at Richards Middle School that much better. Will never forget you!
Mike aka “Mr. CLEAN” was an incredible man and one of my many “uncles” from men’s Bible study group. I first met Mike at Disciple Now at Hebron when I was 12. I then got to spend so many Saturday mornings with him and a great group of friends. He always had a such an insightful perspective and words of wisdom to share with the group about whatever topic we were studying. Several months ago, I was back in Georgia and was able to go to men’s bible study. Mike made a special trip to bible study when he heard I was coming, and it truly meant a lot to me. It was so good to see him and be able to visit with him that Saturday. Mike was a great man and a strong Christian man. He will be missed, but I know he is in heaven with his Savior.
This breaks my heart! I only knew him through Kineo, but I knew he was a mighty man of God. Now he is finally home. Praying for your entire family.
Mike will be missed but we know he is in heaven tonight with our Lord and Savior Jesus!
Mike was always kind and supportive. His positivity was always encouraging and inspiring to his fellow educators. He will be greatly missed.
Mr Davis was one of my daughter Peyton’s first teachers at Richards, and he was one of the favorites. Even after she moved on to high school, he always asked about her whenever I saw him. He was a truly special person and teacher, and he will be missed.
My most sincere condoy.
I have been a colleague’s of Mike’s at RMS for the past 20 years. He was always a source of love, kindness, and joy for staff and students alike. While Mike often faced challenges he was always smiling and always ready to help anyone. I loved to talk with him about his beloved grands and to see his most recent photos. We often talked about our students and he was always a source of wisdom for me. As we often saw each other at the end of the while walking to cars he always sent me off with “Have a blessed day”. Mike, you were a blessing in my life and I will miss you.
Mike was a unique individual. Always smiling and always looking out for everyone around him. Great memories of Mike and our whole Senior Class at Long Beach High School, Long Beach , Mississippi. GOD is definitely gathering all of his Beautiful angels. May God comfort his family with his loving grace.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Mike was always kind to me and my family. I enjoyed getting to talk and laugh with him.
Lot of good memories with Mike as we raised our boys into fine young Men. He always had a smile on His face and ahis presence was always something to behold. Our condolences for your loss and our prayers for your comfort.
With much love ❤️
I’m so sorry for your loss.

Mr Davis was one of my daughter Elizabeth’s teachers at Richards Middle School and she really enjoyed having him.
He was a phenomenal teacher, and he will be greatly missed.
Rest in Peace Mr. Davis 💚💙
Mike!
I’m singing a song …..It’s been a long day without you , my friend. And I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again.
The time I worked with you was a learning experience. Learning in the education system from a True man of wisdom. I definitely won’t forget the songs you sang at the beginning of the school day to brighten up and lighten up the 7th grade halls when we worked together. Now you can sing all day in Heaven!
You will be greatly missed

Pslams 30:5
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Mike and I grew up together. Our Mom’s were in the Eastern Star together. Mike’s Dad,
Mr. Oyd was a Mason.
Mike and I graduated from Long Beach High School together in 1980. Lost touch for awhile. Visited at class reunions, fb has help keep us all in touch. Mike completed his dash and what a fine man he always was!
“Blessed are those who mourn,
