Margaret Eileen Rapkin, Peggy, 89, passed away on June 5th, 2012 at her home in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She was born on August 11, 1922 in Philadelphia, PA, to Julius and Gladys Fabry.
Peggy grew up in Philadelphia, PA.
Peggy married Warrant Officer Bernard J. Rapkin in 1942 in Vancouver, Washington. They were happily married for 61 years. Peggy participated in volunteer organizations. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, visiting children, grandchildren and lifelong friends. She also received Community Service Awards for helping disabled children learn to swim at the local YWCA.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Bernard J. Rapkin, parents Julius and Gladys Fabry and brother Paul Fabry.
Peggy is survived by her son David Paul Rapkin Wenli, Wayne Richard Rapkin Helen Koschoff, James Julius Rapkin Alesia, brother, Michael Cooke, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A Graveside service will be held at West View Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012. A visitation will be held at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel Friday, June 8, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Scottish Rite CHOA, 1687 Tullie Circle NE, Atlanta, GA 30329 or alternately,
