Cathy Martin Kennedy

Cathy Martin Kennedy, 72, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away on August 11, 2026. She was born on March 23, 1954, in Decatur, Georgia, and graduated from Avondale High School.

Cathy devoted much of her life to her family and her home. She was a homemaker and also spent 17 years working in telecommunications with Sprint. She was a longtime member of Sugarloaf United Methodist Church and remained connected to her faith throughout her life.

Protective, warm, and determined, Cathy was deeply devoted to her children and worked to make sure her family always had a safe and welcoming place to call home. She was supportive of those she loved and was known for making others feel comfortable and cared for. Among the special memories her family will carry with them is Cathy teaching Ash how to make her famous peach cobbler.

Cathy enjoyed gardening and football and was an enthusiastic Atlanta Falcons fan.

She is survived by her children, Jacob Kennedy, Ash Kennedy and Austin Kennedy; and her niece, Laurie Carter.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Lester Martin and Frances Harris Martin, and her brother, Larry Gene Martin.

A visitation will be held at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Highway, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, from 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 22, 2026, with a funeral service honoring Cathy's life to begin at 2:00 p.m.
