Claudia Lee Campbell Forester

Claudia Lee Campbell Forester, 94, died peacefully, December 10, 2025 with her surviving children beside her. She joins her beloved husband, William E. (Bill) Forester and her daughter, Mary Katherine (Katie) Forester in eternal life.

Claudia was born December 6, 1931 in Memphis, Tennessee to Ida Mae (Pat) Eden Campbell and Claude Girault Campbell. She grew up in Wilson and Earl, Arkansas and attended Arkansas State College and Memphis State College (now University of Memphis). It was there that she met Bill. They were happily married for forty-four years, raising their family in Sandy Springs. Georgia. Later they moved to Lexington, Virginia where she worked as archivist for Sigma Nu fraternity and was active in the Lexington Presbyterian Church.

In 2005 Claudia returned to the Atlanta area, this time settling in Lawrenceville. A neighbor invited her to worship at Lawrenceville First Methodist where she immediately found a home. She volunteered at Grace Arbor, a respite care center for senior adults and became a member of the Joy Class. She adored her shitzus, bird watching and UGA football.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Forester DeWyngaert of Sarasota and Patricia Forester Lewis of Suwanee, five grandchildren, Rachel DeWyngaert Workman (William), Sarah Kate DeWyngaert Bumgarner (Robert), Laura Lewis Bailey (Daniel), Caroline Lewis and William E. (Tucker) Lewis, seven great- grandchildren, Louisa Workman, Elizabeth Bumgarner, Edward (Teddy) Workman, Rebecca Bumgarner, Parker Bailey, Addie Bailey and Sadie Bumgarner, a niece, Claudia Deberry of Bloomington, Indiana and a nephew, John (Hank) Deberry of Lexington, Kentucky.

A service of worship giving thanks to God for Claudia's life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, January 24 at Lawrenceville First Methodist Church (LVfirst) 395 West Crogan St. Lawrenceville, GA 30046 with a reception to follow in the Family Center.
