Edwin Clyde Warren, affectionately known as “Mr. Ed” or “Papa,” of Grayson, Georgia, passed away on October 19, 2026, at the age of 96. He was born on July 21, 1930, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late William Clyde Warren and Ellen (Jacobs) Warren Richardson.

Ed attended Tech High School and graduated from Hoke Smith High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Quartermaster. Following his military service, he enjoyed a successful career with Western Electric/BellSouth, where he worked as a supervisor for 37 years.

A man of faith, Ed was a member of Loganville First United Methodist Church. He was known for his loving and caring nature, wonderful sense of humor, and ability to make everyone around him feel welcome. Ed never met a stranger and was always ready with a good story, a helping hand, or a little laughter to brighten someone's day.

Ed was a talented craftsman who enjoyed working with his hands. He especially loved building model airplanes and ships, as well as creating his own wooden versions of them. His creativity, patience, and attention to detail were evident in everything he made. He also enjoyed birdwatching and going to The Varsity, a longtime favorite.

Above all, Ed treasured his family. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with those he loved, whether gathering everyone together or attending his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting events and activities. He took great pride in his family and made sure each person knew how deeply they were loved. His warmth, playful spirit, and genuine kindness made him a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, William Clyde Warren and Ellen (Jacobs) Warren Richardson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Warren; his son, David Warren and wife Cathy; his daughter, Karen Rogers and husband Burr; five grandchildren, Zack Rogers and wife Becca, Brian Warren and wife Alyssa, Matt Rogers and wife Jackie, Stephen Warren and wife Julia, and Jeff Rogers and wife Holly; and ten cherished great-grandchildren.

A funeral service honoring Ed's life will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Wages & Sons Funeral Home, Gwinnett Chapel, located at 1031 Lawrenceville Highway, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of one's choice.

Ed will be remembered for his generous heart, his love of family, his remarkable craftsmanship, and the many stories and smiles he shared throughout his 96 years. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friendships he nurtured, and the countless lives made brighter by his presence.
