Jeff Jay Fish

Jeff Jay Fish, age 67, passed away in Lawrenceville, GA on August 11, 2026. A beloved brother, son and friend, he leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Jeff was born in October 1958 in Trenton, NJ to Kathryn and Theodore G. Fish, Jr.

He grew up in Yardville, NJ, sharing a childhood filled with endless backyard games, adventures at Gropp’s Lake and Sunnybrae baseball field with his younger brother and countless neighborhood friends. His laughter, mischief, and unmistakable presence will be missed. Jeff was always the life of the party.

Growing up, Jeff was a natural athlete and competitor. He played football, baseball, and swam for his high school team, embracing every sport with enthusiasm. When he wasn’t on the field or in the pool, Jeff was skateboarding with friends, carving up pavement and collecting stories along the way. He graduated from Hamilton High School West, Trenton NJ in 1977. He continued to college and graduated with a degree in engineering from Mercer County College.

Jeff’s interests expanded into a wide range of hobbies. He developed a passion for collecting coins and watches, each piece reflecting his appreciation for history, craftsmanship, and the thrill of discovery. He enjoyed following the stock market, treating it like a puzzle he was determined to solve. He loved cooking, especially bragging about his Pennsylvania Dutch potatoes – a dish he insisted was unmatched in flavor, and anyone lucky enough to try it knew he wasn’t exaggerating.

One of his favorite places in the world was Hunting Island, South Carolina, where he loved camping. Whether it was the ocean breeze, the quiet mornings, or the simple pleasure of being outdoors, Hunting Island was a place where Jeff felt at home.

Among his many passions, fishing spoke to Jeff’s love of the outdoors. Fishing gave Jeff a sense of peace and connection to the world around him. He also was an avid golfer and could be found on the course with his brother and many friends enjoying the sport and camaraderie.

Jeff’s prankster spirit and quick wit were matched only by his generosity. He was always there for you – steady, dependable, and ready to help without hesitation. His kindness showed up in the way he listened, the way he supported others, and the way he made people feel valued. He had a gift for making people feel like they mattered. Those who loved Jeff will remember his big heart, his mischievous grin, and the joy he brought into every room he entered. His legacy lives on in the stories he leaves behind, the friendships he strengthened, and the countless moments of laughter he brought to others.

Jeff is survived by his sister Denise Fair (Jimmy); his brother Craig Fish; his nieces and nephew McKenzie Fish, Jenna Fair (Joshua Price), and Christopher Fair (Savannah); and grand nephews, Scottie Fair and Callahan Fair. He leaves behind his beloved cat and best friend, Buddy. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore (Ted) and Kathryn (Kitty) Fish, Jr.

In keeping with Jeff’s wishes, cremation will take place, followed by a celebration of life at a later date.
