Joan Westbrooks

Joan Westbrooks, age 74, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away on May 7, 2026. She was born on December 1, 1951, in Lilburn, Georgia, and was a proud graduate of Berkmar High School.

Joan was a loving, kind, and wonderfully sassy woman who brought warmth and comfort to everyone around her. She was known affectionately by many as “Ms. Joans,” and her caring spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Above all else, Joan loved her family deeply, especially her only grandchild, who brought her endless joy and pride.

She enjoyed spending her time doing puzzles, reading, and cooking for those she loved. Joan was an avid sports fan and especially loved cheering on the Atlanta Braves, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. She also had a special love for fantasy football, which she greatly enjoyed.

Joan had a generous and selfless heart. If she was able, she would give anything she could to help her family and friends. She found happiness in preparing meals and sharing them with others, always making sure those around her felt cared for and welcome. She was also a devoted wife who lovingly cared for her husband for many years.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Westbrooks; her daughter, Kelly Westbrooks; her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Deanna Ward; and her cherished grandson, Nathaniel Ward.

Joan will be remembered as everyone’s favorite team mom.
