Abraham-Marcel Nairobi Pierce, 25, of Gwinnett County, Georgia, gained his wings to accompany his cape on (died unexpectantly at home) Friday, August 7, 2020. He was born in Freehold Township, NJ, the eldest son of Brian and Lorraine (Echols) Pierce. He attended Gwinnett County Public Schools and completed the National Guard Youth Challenge Program in 2012. He strived to live their motto “Dream, Believe, Achieve” each day. Abraham was employed by the Darden Restaurant Group, as part of the service team at Bahama Breeze, Duluth, Georgia.

Abraham was a stranger to none and a friend of many. He accepted life and embraced every moment. Abraham worked to create a balance between mind, body, and spirit by taking academic business courses while in Denver, creating exercise goals, and being baptized on May 22, 2011 at the Dekalb United Pentecostal Church, Stone Mountain, GA. During his quarter century of life, Abraham positively effective countless individuals. For those who had the opportunity to meet Abraham even just briefly, lost a brilliant glow in their life journey. Abraham perform numerous acts of service and good deeds during his time in AmeriCorps. Since his death many have written about how extraordinary Abraham was to them and the positive impact he had on their life.

Abraham will be missed every day by his parents Brian and Lorraine of Gwinnett County, GA; his brothers Isaiah-Majid and Emmanuel-Micah and his sister Jordan-Zakiyah, all at home. His brother, Joshua-Maliq O. Pierce precedes him in death. Abraham also leaves his first cousins who he lived with as siblings Rafiah N. Johnson and Khadijah N. Reed both of Gwinnett County.

He is also survived by multiple grandparents; Florine (Hamilton) and N. Leroy Washington (spouse) of Gwinnett County, GA., with whom Abraham spent many summer vacations in Florida with. David and Robin Echols (spouse) of Howard County, Md., and maintained a relationship with Abraham despite living hundreds of miles away. Pastors Alexis and Lorretta Johnson (spouse) of Barnegat, NJ preserved a spiritual connection with Abraham. Shoveling snow was not his favorite winter past time but in OG Batman fashion he completed the task asked of him by Phyllis (Pierce) and Isidore Kukou Souka Agboyibor aka Poppy (spouse) of Burlington, NJ. His family zigzags across the county, James “Jimmy” and Patricia Singletary (spouse) of Los Angeles County, CA., great grandparents Easter Mae (Covin) of Monmouth County, NJ and Jimmy Lee Hamilton of Dougherty County, GA, along with honorary grandmother, Gloria Lella of Morris County, NJ and dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins, and innumerable friends all played a role in Abraham’s adventurous life.

Our lives will never be the same without Abraham. He will continue to stay with us all through memories, images, and shared stories. The OG Batman will live on through our good deeds and positive thoughts.
