Alton Wayne Mccord Sr

Alton Wayne McCord Sr age 80 of Stone Mountain, Georgia passed away on Friday February 24, 2023, at Piedmont Eastside Hospital in Snellville, Georgia from Stage 4 colon cancer. He was employed by Ford Motor Company Atlanta Assembly plant in Hapeville, Georgia for over 40 years working several years on the assembly line and later becoming a union official representing UAW Local 882 for many years before retiring. After retiring. he enjoyed spending time with family and doing many outdoor activities.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Howard McCord and James Robert McCord Jr. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elsie Deanne McCord, his son Alton Wayne McCord Jr, his daughter Valerie Lynette Hight and son-in-law Tommy Hight, all of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Grandson Steven Richardson, and wife Andrea, great grandson Caylem Richardson and great granddaughter Avery Richardson of Madison, Georgia, Sister Denelda (Dee) Stripling and husband Johnnie Stripling of Texas, Sisters-in-law Lavern McCord and Hazel McCord, Stepbrother Nelson Cross and several nieces and nephews.

A private service will be arranged by Wages and Sons Funeral Home in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens on Stone Mountain Hwy in Stone Mountain, Georgia
