Barbara Jean Price, age 95, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away Tuesday, April 23 at Sunrise Assisted
Living in Sandy Springs. Barbara was not afraid of adventure, leaving her small home town of Pana, Ill.
With three friends to go to new jobs in Florida when she was younger. She even liked to camp and
wasn’t afraid to fly with her husband Jack in his small two seat airplanes. She liked music and was a
prankster, with a real appreciation for April Fool’s Day! She volunteered her time to help many over the
years; including leading a Boy Scout Webelo’s group for several years and even breaking her hip at the
age of 76 volunteering at a hospice day center. She loved God. She loved the many friends from “the
old neighborhood” whom she had known for fifty years or more; she knew they had something special.
She loved her “Joy” Sunday School class at the First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville. She
loved her family and of course her dogs. She was especially grateful for all of the friends and caretakers
who helped her the past several years. Barbara is survived by her son, Michael and wife, Kelly;
granddaughter Meredith Monroe and husband, Graham; grandson, Tyler and wife, Emmy; and nieces
and nephews. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “missions” at the First United Methodist
Church of Lawrenceville or the American Cancer Society.
So sorry for your loss. She will be missed
