Daniel Timothy Lascek, 36, of Dacula, Georgia passed away on March 14th while surrounded by his loving family. Daniel was born in Boulder, Colorado on July 2nd, 1983 as the son of Diane and Dean Hoffman and Timothy and Linda Lascek.
Daniel was preceded in death by his loving grandparents Wilbur and Sonia Kean and Joyce Golden, all of Cranesville, PA and his uncle Stephen Kean of Avoca, PA.
Daniel graduated from Napa High School and attended Dacula High School. As an adult he attended Wilturn Adult Community Services. Daniel was able to inspire those around him with his love, innocence, and overwhelming humor. Daniel’s influence on his friends and family enhanced their lives by cultivating their empathetic instincts and compassion. Daniel was naturally mischievous and lit up everyone’s day with clever pranks and funny gestures. Daniel taught everyone he met to have patience, enjoy the simple things in life, and to love unconditionally. Nancy Williams, one of his favorite caregivers, remarked that, “Daniel had lived a better life than most of us will ever live: happy every day and not a care in the world.” Daniel enjoyed windy days similar to cartoon character Winnie the Pooh and found meditative peace watching flags and trees blow in the wind while outdoors. Daniel loved watching his favorite movie “Muppets Family Christmas” which put him into a happy mood. He also enjoyed dancing to music, pumping his fist, and clapping to the rhythm. Daniel enjoyed the company of animals and was always excited to pet dogs and imitate monkeys. Daniel expressed his love for others by giving back rubs and grand endearing hugs.
In addition to his parents, Daniel is continually loved by his siblings, Justin of Woodland Park, Colorado; Nathan (Alyssa) of Marietta, Georgia; and Joshua & Nicole of Mooresville, North Carolina. Also his step brother Dean Jr (Kate) Hoffman, step nephew and niece Porter and Clover all of Napa, CA and grandparents Rudy (Kay) Lascek of Erie, PA. He is also survived by three uncles, Donald (Jill) Kean, Tom (Pam) Lascek and Ted (Michelle) Lascek as well as two aunts Vickie (Bill) Takach and Terri (Charlie) Carlos. Daniel is also loved by his extended family throughout the country and by his many caregivers who enhanced his quality of life in an innumerable amount of ways.
The family would like to thank the staff at Dignity Care Home, the staff at Wilturn Adult Community Services, and all the support staff for Daniel’s quality care over the years.
Pending COVID-19 developments, there will be a “Celebration of Life” at a later date at Wages & Sons Funeral Home at 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, Georgia. In lieu of flowers the family requests to please send donations in Daniel’s name to the National CMV Foundation at the link provided below:

When I used to babysit Daniel, I loved playing basketball in the driveway with him while waiting on his school bus to pick him up. We used to sit on the couch and watch Elmo, Barney and the Muppets together in the afternoons. He gave the best back rubs and hugs. My heart is broken for you all, I feel like one of my own children has passed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I love you Diane, Justin and Nathan!
Sarah and I are praying for peace and understanding for your family during this time.

My deepest sympathy. Praying for you and your family during this difficult time.
Thinking of you and your family Diane. Always enjoyed the pictures of Daniel and his happiness and love for his family. Your Mom always talked about Daniel; I’m sure she was waiting for him at Heaven’s Gate.
Daniel is the joy of living! Really looking forward to celebrating his life!
Daniel is now home with the Angels and in the presence of the Lord, where we all will be one day. What a blessing it has been to have had Daniel in our lives. He showed us and taught many virtues. He taught Love. Not that a knew him personally but I see it through the women who raised and loved him most. Daniel will live on in our hearts and never be forgotten. My deepest condolences.
Love from Lisa, Rich, Devan & DJ
