David Michael Holmes, 46, formerly of Flowery Branch and Oakwood GA, died unexpectedly July 31st, 2015.  David will be greatly missed by many family members and friends, but most especially by his daughter Katherine. A  Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday August 30th at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA.  770-277-4550. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Action Ministries, Gainesville GA, The Salvation Army, any local food bank, or a charity of your choice that would honor David. David was a fine intelligent young man whom adored his daughter Catherine Grace Holmes, and did love is former wife Beth Holmes, He will be sorely missed by his mother Patricia Winkler, George Winkler, Cousins: Jackie, Christina Elizabeth, Aimee Beth, Liz, Sophia & Holden, Clara, Anna, Ryan Butler, Aimee Beth, Mark, Karen & Aarron Hoelker, His Foster Parents The Holmes, Uncle’s: Denis, Dwayne, Tony, Rick, Patrick, and Brian. His families will miss him.

  2. I still find it hard to believe you are gone Big Brother. I miss you more than you will know! I take comfort in knowing that you are finally at peace and are no longer hurting. In time I know that my heart will heal, but right now there is an emptiness that aches to talk and laugh with you once again. You were an amazing man who touched the lives of all who knew you! I love you Big Brother!

  5. I am so very sorry about David. I worked with him at the Ga Mountains Center. and got to know him pretty well. He always made me laugh, and I know he was a special young Man, who loved his Daughter very much., and he talked about her with Pride, and loved to show her picture. I can’t believe he is gone, but God must have had plans for him. May he rest in Peace, and saying many prayers for his Family. God Bless you all.

  11. I have known David since he was 17 and we worked together at Shoneys in Oakwood. For many years we were very close friends, but then started losing touch! I have seen him here and there over the past few years and always enjoyed it! He will be greatly missed! My prayers are with all his family and friends during this time of loss and grief. Rest in Peace my friend!
