August 1, 1967 ~ September 14, 2019

Born in: Clearwater, Florida
Resided in: Lawrenceville, Georgia

Denise Donovan Helmick passed away peacefully on the morning of September 14, 2019. Denise was born on August 1, 1967 in Clearwater, Florida. She moved to Marietta, Georgia in 1976 with her parents. She married her husband, Brian, on November 6, 1993, and then moved Lawrenceville, Georgia in 1994 where her family continues to reside.   Denise was a woman that brightened any room with her presence. She was loved by each and every person she interacted with. Her bubbly, inclusive personality always made her the center of attention. Denise loved life; she loved traveling and exploring, whether it be in the U.S. or internationally. She loved to give and she had an incredible eye for detail. These personality traits carried over into her career field as a physical therapist, where she enjoyed caring for her patients and ensuring their comfort. As a mother, she was no different. She served her children in every way possible: as a room-mom in elementary school or a timer at swim meets. She and her husband are longstanding members at McKendree United Methodist Church and were both involved in regular church activities.   In Denise’s last days on Earth, she was surrounded by her closest friends and family members. Above all things, Denise was a loving, beautiful woman whose legacy will live on with those whom she shared life’s journey.   She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Ursula Donovan. She is survived by her son, Garrett Helmick; her daughter, Madison Helmick; her daughter-in-law, Breanne Helmick; and her husband of 25 years, Brian Helmick.   A memorial service will be held in her memory on Monday, September 16 at 4:00PM at McKendree United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, GA.
