Eileen McCurdy Armistead, age 74, of Lilburn GA, passed in her sleep on Thursday February 17, 2022. Eileen was born in 1948 to Floyd and Evelyn McCurdy of Atlanta, GA. She was a graduate of Sylvan Hills High School in Atlanta and received her bachelor’s degree from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA. Eileen started her career at home with her children and went on to become the Vice President of Phoenix Global Mortgage Corporation, based in Sandy Springs. After retirement, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, watching football with family, and beating as many levels as she could on Candy Crush. She was a wonderful mother to her children and a great friend to many. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Joel Colley Armistead and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Emily Armistead of Cumming, Anne Armistead of Lilburn and David (wife Emily) Armistead of Tucker. The Armistead family will receive friends Friday February 25th 2022 from 10-noon at Wages & Son funeral home. The funeral will be held immediately after, followed by a graveside service at Greenwood cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Fund for Agnes Scott.

We celebrated together every life saved in the Bosnian Civil War and brought to the United States. Most of us became very successful thanks to Eileen’s and the whole family’s sacrifices.
