Elizabeth Roberets Glisper

In loving memory of Mrs. Elizabeth Francis Roberts-Glisper, affectionately known as “Big Mama.” She was born on November 6th, 1929 in East Chicago IN, to the late Wayne & Alice Roberts. She was the fourth daughter of their union. At an early age, Elizabeth confessed her love for Christ; and acknowledged the sovereignty of God by letting everyone know that “the man upstairs runs the show.” Elizabeth committed her life to the Lord by being baptized, and devoted member of Rain Or Shine Missionary Baptist in Chicago IL. Elizabeth was united in holy matrimony to Raymond Davis Glisper (deceased) on March 24th, 1971. This Union was blessed with one child, Barbara Jean Roberts who preceded her in death. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality she was loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life on July 23rd, 2018 @ 9:52 am. She passed away at Grace Nursing Home where she was loved and cared for by friends and staff. She was preceded in death by her sisters Rose, Naomi and Ravinia Roberts. Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memory: her grand daughter Tonia Roberts (James Calhoun); two grand sons Keith and Darin Roberts (Ann Smith), two nieces Shirley Rufus and Cheryl Rife, great grandchildren Clarence, Corry, Keith Jr, Aneisa, Heaven, Shaquille,Darin II, Tonisha, Dareanna, Jatarra, Desmend, Darin Jr, JaCoby (deceased), Deanna, Charlisa, Dartagan, and Dihanna; 18 great great-grandchildren; a host of other family and friends.
