Francis Charles Larkin Jr., “Chuck”, passed away on Sunday January 30th, 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease and a short battle with COVID19. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank (Sr.) and Kay Larkin of Trenton, New Jersey. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon Larkin, daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Carey Crews, son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Carla Larkin, three grandchildren, Kayleigh and Meagan Crews and Owen Larkin, and six siblings with their spouses, Pete and Barb Larkin, Dennis Larkin and Lois Engelbrecht, Jim and Ruby Larkin, Paul and Anna Larkin, Kathy and George Cox, Judy and Mark Erb, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Chuck was born on October 26th, 1948 in Trenton, New Jersey. He graduated from St. Anthony’s High School in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. He is a graduate of Trenton State College and Rider University. Chuck was a Vietnam-era veteran of the US Air Force, serving from 1968 – 1972, where he developed a passion for electronics and computers. He continued that passion throughout his career, working in electronics until his retirement from Efacec (Advanced Control Systems) in 2014. Chuck was an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, where he volunteered for more than 20 years and received numerous awards for his service. He was a founding leader of Pack 590, Troop 590, Explorer Post 590, and Venturing Crew 590 where he touched the lives of many scouts. He was known throughout Northeast Georgia scouting events for his distinctive red truck and his volunteer spirit. He will be missed for his incredible sense of humor and his desire to help anyone he could. Chuck passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, who will miss him dearly.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 6th at 1PM at Wages and Sons Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Georgia. A service in celebration of his life will be held at 2PM. The family requests that guests attending the service wear masks.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests donations in his honor to either the Alzheimer’s Association or the Northeast Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
