Garrett Alexander Hance

May 2, 1991 — June 4, 2023

Garrett Alexander Hance of Alto, Ga. lost his life in a horrific car accident on June 4th 2023 at the age of 33. He was born in Joplin, Missouri on May 2nd 1991. He was a beautiful son, grandson, brother, cousin, uncle, and nephew.

“Hello my name is Garrett Hance and my birthday is May the 2nd.” That was my first time meeting 3 year old Garrett. He and his mom soon became a shining part of my life. Cub scouts, pine box derby, NASA trip, T-Ball, and sharing bubbles in the field are some of my early memories of him. I loved him and all he’d brought to our lives.

Garrett was an excellent baseball player he was fast around the bases. He really enjoyed hunting and camping with the family. He loved his baby brother… most of the time.

As he became older he struggled with the confines of school. He was extremely intelligent and probably bored with the curriculum. Our son was a beautiful dreamer. He loved to sing and listen to music. He had a close relationship with god. His big heart led him to believe everyone was good.

Garrett never quit. He fought everyday trying to improve his life. He loved to hike and being part of nature. It seemed this brought peace to him as he aged. Garrett was very happy when his son Phoenix came to live with him.

You will be forever loved and forever in our hearts always. Hope to see you on the trail.
