Guy Fletcher Magbee, 66, passed away in Milton, GA on March 28, 2024. Fletcher was born on July 23, 1957 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late William (Bill) Magbee and Betty Claiborne Magbee. He was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend.
Fletcher grew up in Atlanta, playing football and wrestling at Ridgeview High School in Sandy Springs before his graduation in 1975. Fletcher furthered his education at Auburn University and graduated with a degree in Industrial Management in 1979. Fletcher married Brenda Cowen that year, and returned to Atlanta to work for the Magbee Lumber Company in Norcross, GA. Their two children were born, Thomas in 1989 and Jillian in 1992, and new job opportunities in telecommunications led the family to Boca Raton, Florida in 1992 and Plano, TX in 1995. In 2005, Fletcher returned to Alpharetta, GA to care for his father in his final years. Fletcher attended Alpharetta Methodist Church, and was a very giving and caring man. He loved driving his Porsche Carrera for a Sunday drive and joking around with those he loved.
Fletcher is survived by his brother Bill Magbee, children Thomas and Jillian Magbee, and grandchildren Asher, William, and Benjamin Magbee. A service to celebrate Fletcher’s life will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA. Online condolences may be expressed at wagesandsons.com.
