James O.J. Olchaskey

May 17, 1957 ~ December 25, 2020
Born in:
New Brunswick, NJ
Resided in:
Suwanee, GA
O.J. Olchaskey of Suwanee, Georgia, formerly of Manchester, New Jersey, passed away early Christmas morning after a hard fought battle with stomach cancer. He is predeceased by his mother, Dorothy, his father Sonny, his father-in-law, Raymond Amico and his dogs, Freddie and Murray.
O.J. worked for the last five years at Academy Sports + Outdoors. Prior to that, he was the proprietor of O.J. Olchaskey’s Pro Shops at Howell Lanes and Carolier Lanes. He was one of the country’s premier ball drillers. O.J. was a member of both the Middlesex County and New Jersey State Bowling Halls of Fame. He also had multiple state and county titles, high average awards and 300 and 800 series.
O.J. was loved by everyone that knew him. The teenagers in the bowling center loved to listen to his stories while he drilled their bowling balls and strove to be like O.J. He was a fierce competitor on the lanes, and his closest friends were his toughest competition.
But O.J.’s greatest accomplishment in life was his daughter, Kiley Amico Olchaskey, and his wife of 30 years, Angela Amico Olchaskey. His love for Kiley and Angela knew no bounds. O.J. was their biggest cheerleader and he lived every minute of his life for them. He was the heart and soul of their family and that void will never be filled. He also leaves behind their polar bear of a dog, Percival Castiel, Duke of Suwanee.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville GA 30046. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In the spring of 2021, there will be a charity bowling tournament in New Jersey to celebrate O.J.’s life. This celebration will benefit Ballard vs. The Big C., a 501C3 organization founded by our friends, Del and Carolyn Ballard. Over the past 6 years they have provided financial assistance to charities totaling more than $265,000 that help to support many wonderful organizations, as well as cancer research.
Angela and Kiley ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in memory of O.J. to Ballard vs. The Big C, 9920 Eddleman Court, Keller, Texas 76244 or on-line at www.ballardvsthebigc.org

O.J. you will be missed by many. You were a genuinely nice guy who befriended so many of us at “the lanes”. Always smiling, offering bowling tips and drilling perfection into every single ball brought to you. Our thoughts and prayers are with Angela and Miley.
OJ will always be remembered in our lives as one of the nicest gentlemen and one of the toughest competitors on the lanes. Many memories of bowling with and against him. Prayers to Angela and Kiley during these tough times.
OJ….May God receive you into His eternal kingdom to join our friends and relatives in joy and peace!!! Love you!
Angela and Kiley, although he will be missed by his friends and colleagues the deep void in your life will never be filled except for the great memories and friends you have around you. OJ, you were a class act and will never be forgotten RIP our friend. With love
Dear Angela and Kiley, my prayers are with you. It has been an honor and I am very grateful for your friendship through the years. OJ was certainly a class act and has left a great void in all our hearts. I am heartened by the heartfelt messages left by family and friends to join me in saying that while OJ is now bowling in the big leagues up in heaven, he will always be with you in the inside jokes, the memories of all the great times spent together and the love you shared all these many years.
Love you dearly,
Josephine
OJ I will miss you and your positive attitude about life!!!
My thoughts and prayers to Angela and Kiley. Although I hadn’t seen Oj in many years, there’s a lot of great memories from our Carolier Lanes days. Serious league bowling and of course summer bowling in The Animal League. Oj drilled a great bowling ball and gave me great tips on bowling. Oj, you will be missed
Angela and Kiley,
We will continue to lift you up in prayer and are here for you. We hope that the wonderful memories of OJ will help you through this time and that you will have peace and strength.

together. The good Lord has decided to take you home. Nothing can ever take away all the memories, laughs and good times we shared. I will always treasure our relationship. My heart goes out to Angela and Kiley (OK). We were fortunate to have him in our lives and we will never ever forget him.
Love,
Roger and Brenda
(Champ) as he would refer to me.
A memory that OJ loved to share. We bowled doubles together for many years. Some of our greatest memories came in the Summer Budweiser Open Dbls. The the date is an estimate. Most the best bowlers in the region would participate. We were bowling against our friends Jack Kordusky and Joe Yelencsics. The scores were high and they had beaten us the 1st 2 games. Jack was chirping about beating us. I told Jack that OJ and I were going to shoot
300 the next game. OJ’s 1st shot was a ten pin and a spare. I hollered at him. “Do not do that again. Throw the next 11 shots like your life depended on it”. He struck the next 11 shots for 290 and I shot 300. Obviously, a memory in time we were always able to share.. He was a great bowler..
Angela and Kiley
Prayers for both of you. I have great memories and know he will continue to strikes in heaven !!
Angela and Kiley,
So very sorry for you both and know that we are always here if you need anything.
