Janet Christine Bailey Perkins of Dacula, GA and member of Union Grove Baptist Church passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022.
Janet was 70 years young. She was preceded in death by her parents, Billie M. Bailey and Marjorie Hewatt of Dacula, GA. She is survived by her husband of 22 years Scott Perkins of Lawrenceville, GA; daughter, Jill Clay; son & daughter-in- law, Jason and Darlene Swancey; grandchildren, Adrienne, Angela, Jessica, Chris, Suzanne; 5 great grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law, Wayne and Gale Bailey; sister, Alice Bullock; sister & brother-in-law, Cynthia and Darrell Coggins; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Janet played basketball in high school and later became a homemaker and mother of two. Janet began guitar lessons at 25 and found her love for entertaining others through music. She was an accomplished guitar, piano, and banjo player. She became director of musical talent for the Elisha Winn Fair and other local festivals in the early 1980s. She started her career with the United States Postal Service and proudly served her customers on rural route four in Dacula for 25 years.
After retirement, she spent her days as a loving wife, mother, granny, and philanthropist. She also enjoyed traveling. She was a friend to all and brought a smile to everyone she met. To know her was to love her.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Wages and Sons Funeral Home 1031 Lawrenceville Highway Lawrenceville, GA 30046. Services and interment will be at 2:00 PM , June 1, 2022 at Union Grove Baptist Church, 4080 Fence Road Auburn, GA 30011.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Janet was always such a beauty, inside and out, and we know she will be missed so very much! There is comfort in knowing that she is now pain free and enjoying her heavenly home! Again, prayers for all.

I worked with Janet at the post office for several years and loved her dearly. We remained friends all the years following. I will miss her so much. She loved her family and was so proud of all of them. Gods blessings on each of you and may he keep you in his love and grant you peace.
