REYNOLDS, John (Jack) W. John (Jack) W. Reynolds, 92, of Decatur, passed away March 10, 2016. Born in Richmond Hill, Queens, NY, August 22, 1923, he was the son of William and Henrietta Reynolds. Jack graduated from Richmond Hill High in 1941 during WWII. He attended the West Point Military Academy and completed an intense 3-year program graduating with the class of ’45. Jack served 23 years as an officer in the US Army, retiring in 1969 as a Lieutenant Colonel. At age 59, Jack attended Woodrow Wilson College of Law, graduated in 1985 and practiced law for an additional 15 years. He continued as a volunteer for DeKalb County Juvenile Court until 2007. Jack is survived by his wife of 27 years, Barbara Orisich; his three children, Fred Reynolds of Glendale Springs, NC, John (Chip) Reynolds of Pecan Island, LA, and Jill Smith and her husband Charles of Gadsden, AL; four grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta (UUCA), where Jack attended services for over 40 years, on Saturday, March 19, at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of the following: UUCA Endowment Fund; Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
