  1. Dan, we send our love and condolences to the family.
What can I say about Miss Jolie …. To know Jolie was to love Jolie and our family certainly thought the world of this sweet
sweet lady. We will miss her tremendously and I know you will. This was such a shock when we heard of her passing
and again please know we thought the world of your sister.

  2. Ms. Kelly was my eighth grade math teacher at Snellville Middle School in 1993/1994. I am now 35 years old but will never forget her. I would “stay after” school with Ms. Kelly for tutoring because I struggled in math and needed extra help. In between her lessons, she would talk about her younger days as a dancer. She had a baton and would teach me how to throw and catch the baton. I will never forget her dance routines in front of the chalkboard; she was so graceful. Ms. Kelly was an amazing teacher of mathematics and life. I am so grateful to have been a student of Ms. Kelly’s and am truly saddened to hear of her passing.

  3. Dear Dan. So sorry to hear of the passing of my friend and a excellent teacher. I hired her in 1969 as a teacher in the first middle school in Gwinnett co. Snellville Middle. What a blessing for me. She was dedicated to teaching, loved children , and made friends with everyone. She and ms. Broadnax became best of friends over the years. She will be missed. God bless you and other family at this time. Reid and Deloris Mullins.

  5. Jolie will always be remembered by all those whose lives she touched and made better. I’m sure Jolie is in heaven now probably teaching the angels new dill team routines and how to dance. I feel blessed that she was such an important and wonderful part of my life.

  6. Words cannot adequately convey the sadness we all feel with losing our friend Jolie. She was one in a million-a caring dedicated teacher, a true and loyal friend, and a daughter and loving sister to her family. I was blessed to have her as a mentor and friend and I am grateful she was a positive influence in my life and career as an educator. Jolie-I know you are holding that baton and dancing with the angels.

  7. Ms. Kelly was my 6th grade and science teacher. I loved her, she is the reason I pushed my kids toward science and I love to do the experiments with them. She encouraged me to be ME, a nerdy athlete. I loved her for all that she was, more than a teacher, but a mind shaper for her time. She was a great lady and an AWESOME teacher who cared about her students. I was a closet nerd, not many people knew that, but Ms. Kelly did! She was a great inspiration for me in all aspects. She really helped me grow. I want people to know how GREAT Ms. Kelly was. She really had a positive impact on all of her students.
    Rest In peace Sweet Lady!

  8. Miss K, as so many affectionately called her, was my math teacher in 7th grade. She and Alice Verner and Mary Andrews were a team in the greatest sense of the word. I used to go back for years to help grade papers and decorate their rooms, and Jolie carried on what was known as the Super Kids years after. I cannot convey in words what those years meant to my life. I was blessed to be very close to Jolie for many years and spent a lot of time working with her in her home. We cooked, shopped, had tarot cards read, went to the chiropractor,so much of her life I got to be part of. Now even the Dr’s appointments are special to me. Thank you,Joile, for being my friend. See you in Heaven someday. Don’t be too hard on ’em up there…..I love you, Tiff

  9. About 50 years ago Jolie started teaching a lot of us Mountain Park and Snellville girls to twirl baton. She got our Majorette Corp started at South Gwinnett. She didn’t just teach us baton she taught us about life, responsibility, values, how to stand up for what was right, go after your dreams, and have fun. She drove us around neighborhoods selling taffy to pay for our uniforms. She took us all over the Southeast competing in Baton contests and downtown Atlanta to be in parades. She took us out to get Pizza and to Shoneys where we spent many fun times. She taught us silly songs to sing. She taught us to try our best to be our best. She also was a Middle School teacher later on and I am sure she influenced so many others through her passion for teaching, which she did so well. I am so thankful for her and all she did for me growing up.

  11. I called Jolie” little sister” because she became like a younger sister to me. I had two older sisters. We had common interests–teaching, music, dance, and travel., Mother, Jolie, Ann, another friend, and I went to the Grand Ole Oprey, after my Dad died.
We always found humor wherever we went.
Jolie loved life, people in general, but especially the students she taught. During the years I rented rooms from her, I would awaken in the night to find her sitting at the dining table grading papers. She firmly believed that if she made an assignment, she owed it to the students to give a response to their efforts. Jolie was indeed an inspiration to all. I will definitely miss her.
