Kenneth C. Spell, affectionately known as Kenny to family, Ken, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Great Uncle passed away on September 7, 2023, due to unexpected complications post surgery. He was born November 25, 1950, and adopted by his parents C.D. & Florene Spell in Vicksburg, MS.
He is survived by his sister, Marcia Barker, (Steve BIL) of Dacula, GA. He never married and has no children, but he has adored his nephew, Jonathan Barker, of Ames, IA, his niece, Melody Barker, of Dacula, GA, and his great nieces Amelia Barker, of Grayson, GA, Sasha Barker, of Dacula, GA, and Lora Barker of Dacula, GA.
He grew up in Vicksburg, MS, and attended Vicksburg High School, Hinds Jr College, and Mississippi College.
He worked as a Hospital Records Manager for Cedar-Sinai Medical Center, in Los Angeles, CA, for 36 years.
He was an avid book collector. Sharing books with friends and family was his love language. He was an excellent historian and could speak about almost any area. He was an author as he continued his novel regarding life in the 70’s & 80’s (the best times of his life). He also wrote for the college school newspaper. He served as columnist for his company’s newsletter. He constructed models and Lego sets.
He was an extremely loyal and dedicated friend, having maintained relationships of over 50 years. Many of his friends have already passed away and that made him sad and lonely. Maybe now he is reunited with those who have gone before him.

He as an avid reader enjoyed all discussions of books and sharing them with me to read.
I will miss him as a neighbor and friend and gratefully read the great literary works that he chose of his collection for me to keep. My Strongest Prayers Are With His Sister And And Family And All Of Us Who Will Miss Him.
Losing a brother or uncle is like losing another piece of the puzzle that makes up your family. We are reminded of God’s grace and His assurance of life ever after in the account of his beloved niece.
Wishing you comfort and peace and our love to all.
We’ll miss you cousin.
Kenny, RIP cousin. Ray
I had looked forward to you coming in to work with your coke and bag of chips for lunch and dropping off a stash of your old comics that I still have til this day. One day we will catch up.
