“Mark E. Allen was born on August 14, 1964 to George and Eloise Allen in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of 6 siblings, an uncle to 9 nieces and nephews, a father to 3 and a grandfather of 3. Early on, Mark demonstrated an aptitude for music. As a percussionist, he went to play in “All-City Bands”, Community Band, and the United States Marine Corps. After a time with the USMC, his first daughter Jasmine was born. Once relocated back to Philadelphia, he married Wanda Allen. They have 2 children together, Mark and Mariah.
For the past 58 years, Mark was a father, husband, son, brother, grand father, and friend.
He was a jack of all trades. There was nothing he could not do, or figure out.
A man of words, but showed more through his actions. Mark selflessly devoted himself to his family and friends. Always ready to give you the shirt off his back, and made sure to always lend a helping land. This was demonstrated through his volunteer work at FODAC ( Friends of Disabled Adults and Children), or always being ready to help a neighbor in need. Mark made sure he was ready and able to answer any call.
Although gone, he touched so many lives in ways those memories will stay with us forever.
We Love You.”
