Michael Russell Walker, Jr., a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend passed away December 27, 2024 in Lawrenceville, GA. Born November 28, 2002 in his childhood home, Michael blessed his family and friends with his love, kindness, and laughter for 22 cherished years.
Michael graduated from Brookwood High School with Honors in 2021. Following graduation, Michael pursued a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity at Georgia Gwinnett College and was to graduate in spring 2026.
Born in the kitchen on Thanksgiving morning, Michael was spontaneous and adventurous from the start. He loved going to concerts and seeing where the night would take him. There wasn’t a better partner for a trip to the river, grabbing a bite to eat, hiking Stone Mountain, getting a new piercing, or a long drive to someplace new.
Michael also had an entrepreneurial spirit. He held several gigs: t-shirt sales, yard work, pet sitting, sports betting, and helping at his best friend’s jewelry business. He always showed his passion and creativity for making his own path in the world.
More than anything, Michael will forever be remembered as funny, patient, sweet, caring and kind.
Michael is survived by his loving parents, Luz and Michael Walker; his brother, John Ramirez, his sister-in-law, Hope Veal, and his niece, Ellie Ramirez; his sisters, Michelle Ramirez and Krystal Walker; his grandmothers, Joan Paradis and Aida Montalvan; his brothers-in-law, Peter O’Neal and Otávio Marques; and his German Shepherd, Gretchen.
To honor his life, a visitation for family and friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a memorial service to follow will be held at the Wages & Sons funeral home in Lawrenceville, GA on Sunday, January 5th.
Michael will forever be in our hearts.
Our Little Michael.
