Najia M. Ahmadi

We are profoundly saddened to announce the loss of our sweet & loving sister, Najia Ahmadi on February 20, 2021.

She was 41 years young and was born in Afghanistan. She is preceded in death by her beloved and noble mother, Shamsi Ahmadi and older sister, Roshan Ahmadi-Haney and her devoted and very much loved cats: Lucky, Lucy & Socks.

Najia is survived by five brothers and one sister. Shafiq Ahmadi, Kashif Ahmadi, Maruf Ahmadi, Shafi Ahmadi and Josef Ahmadi, (brothers). Zakia Ahmadi, (sister) and Musah (Sammy) Haney, (nephew).

After coming to the United States as a young child, Najia grew up in Elgin, IL and then relocated to Decatur, GA in 1990. Najia graduated from Druid Hills High School in 1997 and proceeded to earn a Bachelor’s degree in accounting at Georgia State University. She began working at Georgia State as a Library Assistant III in 2016 until present. She loved her work, friends and co-workers and devoted her spare time to the love, care and needs of shelter animals.

Najia and her lighthearted spirit will be missed beyond measure by her loving family and friends and her present cat, Buttercup.

We love you Najia and we miss you.

Services will be entrusted to Wages & Sons Funeral Home, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville GA 30046 at 12:00pm on Saturday, February 27, 2021.
