Phat Tan Bui

Phat was still a teenager when I first met him, always looking to help, with a brilliant smile and kind heart. In the years since when I interacted with him, he continued to display a willingness to learn and never seemed to lose that child-like eagerness and innocence. While sensitive, he rarely complained and didn’t want to be anyone’s burden, even when many of us were more than willing to assist someone who readily would give so much of himself. He could be so tough on himself, but we all accepted him as the wonderful, honest man that he was and in my heart is. He was among the best of us, and the world seems a little darker, flatter, and colder without him in it. Rest in the peace you often sought, Phat. We will remember you for all that this world should be and for your courageous and enduring spirit. Much love always. Missed forever.
