Born in: Kannapolis, North Carolina
Resided in: Blue Ridge, Georgia, (formerly of Lawrenceville, Georgia)

Polly Ann Ezzard went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren after a short illness.

The family asks you to join them for a celebration of her life at 2:00PM on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Wages and Sons Funeral Home, 1031 Lawrenceville Highway Lawrenceville, GA 30046. The family welcomes you to a visitation which will be held from 2:00 – 6:00PM on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

Polly was the wife of Dr. George P. Ezzard of Lawrenceville, GA for 50 years prior to his passing. She was a graduate of Tift College. Polly met her beloved husband while being employed by the CDC as a microbiologist. She was a devoted Christian and dedicated her life to the Lord, her husband, children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. Polly instilled her strong Christian values into all she met, especially her daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren. She worked tirelessly alongside her husband to care for her family and the people of Lawrenceville and Gwinnett County. All of their many patients have always remained in her heart and prayers.

Polly grew up in Oakboro, NC with her 5 brothers and sisters, in which 3 of whom have predeceased her. She was taught her love for the Lord by her mother Margaret.

Polly made a lasting impression to all she met with her kind and loving nature. Her passing will leave an emptiness in many hearts, especially those of her family.

Polly is survived by her brother, Aaron & Betty Honeycutt of NC; 4 sisters-in-law of NC & GA; daughters & sons-in-law, Rick & Maryanne Haddock, Scott & Margaret Scheunemann, Carolyn Ezzard Campbell; grandchildren, Ron & Krista Marshall, Tiffany Marie Haddock, Tara & Rocky Haddock, Kara Scheunemann, Kathryn & Charles Davis, Jonathan Campbell, Elizabeth Campbell; great grandchildren, Pierce Marshall, Eden Marshall, Rylee Haddock, Baby Haddock due in May; along with 22 nieces & nephews.

The family asks for donations to be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Association or Alzheimer’s Association in Polly’s honor.

We ask you to pray for the family during this time of sorrow.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. CandleImagePolly was always warm and friendly to me. We had many fond conversations about our lives and growing up in Union County. She had a unique viewpoint that I will never forget. One memory that stands out occurred with Eden and discussing how precious and pretty she was. As 1 year olds tend to do, Eden became fussy about something and Polly said, “She’s your grand-daughter now.” ????My love and prayers are with you all and hope your grief will be soothed by the good memories you shared ????????

  2. CandleImageWe were blessed to have Polly as our patient in ICU during her last days. Never had we met someone like her, and we will always remember how she touched our lives in such a beautiful way, despite her illness. She had a smile and a kind word for everyone, and she was one of the strongest, bravest souls we had ever met.

We had the privilege of watching Polly spend her days wrapped in the love and comfort of her family, whether they were reading to her, tempting her to eat with doughnuts or other treats, or just sitting peacefully with her while she slept. Thank you for the privilege of getting to know Polly and to care for her – we pray that you will find peace and comfort in your memories of your happy times together. With love from the ICU nursing team

  3. I visit taught Polly for a number of years and she is such a sweetheart. I have to say is because she is just on the other side and is looking down on all of us. I am so grateful that the family were there with her. Please know of our love and condolences.

  4. Polly and I visited sisters together. Her two youngest girls have been great friends with our children. She was a loving and caring and kind person who will be missed but always remembered. We love you Polly

  5. MaryAnne and family, I am so sorry to hear about your Mother. You’re in my thoughts and prayers. Ginn Alford Smith

  6. Margaret, Scott & Kara,
Trusting you are looking to the God of all comfort during this time of grief. Only the Lord can understand your sorrow and supply your every need today and forevermore.
    My love & prayers,
    glancy
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” I Peter 1:3

  7. CandleImageSo much love and thoughts and prayers.
There are times when there are
too few words left to heal us,
when what we wish for is to
be carried, when all we have
left is the hope that tomorrow
will be a more gentle place to
    land than today
