Preston G. Bennett

Preston Gullett Bennett, Jr., age 88, died at Harbor Grace Hospice in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 7, 2022. He was a long-time resident of Gwinnett County. After retirement from Avon Products, Inc., he owned a Franklin’s Printing franchise for fifteen years.

He was born January 15, 1934, in Ripley, MS, to Preston Gullett Bennett and Lillie Mae Deen Bennett. He was first married to Dortha Helon Rose Estes of Tippah County, MS, who died on September 23, 2004.

He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, GA, where he served as a volunteer in the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He also serviced as a volunteer for Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 32 years, Katherine Ann Ward Bennett, his son, Philip Deen Bennett, and his daughter, Elizabeth Ellen Bennett Garduno.

Survivors include: his Brothers: Paul Deen Bennett of Appling, GA, and Johnnie Ray Bennett, of Corinth, MS; Stepsons: Kerry Dene Wolfe of Lawrenceville, GA, and Michael Ward Wolfe of Hermitage, TN; Granddaughter: Rose Ellen Garduno Pequignot of Joplin, MO; Grandson: Cody Deen Bennett of Lawrenceville, GA, Granddaughter Miranda Rose Bennett, of Lawrenceville, GA, and Granddaughter Marcie Rose Aaron of Atlanta, GA; Great-grandchildren: Nevaeh Rose and Averie Ryan Pequignot, of Joplin, MO.

Visitation will be at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA, 30046, on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, from 11:00AM to 12:00PM, with a graveside service to follow.

The Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 12:00PM at Gwinnett Memorial Park, 925 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA, 30046.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
