Ronald Drenning grew up in Robertsdale, Pennsylvania. He was one of 10 children. After high school, he went into the U.S. Army and fought in Korea. Guestbook

  1. In the earliest days of the Miami Dolphins, Ron lived near the Orange Bowl. Our families would get together to park cars in the yard for extra income. My Mom, Sarah, and Shelley, experienced 2 of their children being born just weeks apart. From the mid-50s to the late 60s, we would often share weekend meals or trips to the beach, even as the Drennings moved to Palm Beach Gardens. Ron and my Dad, Dan Brna, shared a love of boating. Having kept in touch for many years, most of our families migrated to the NE metro Atlanta area. I’ll miss Ron for his interest in maintaining contact between our families and his international experiences.

  4. CandleImageWhen I was young Uncle Ron was this mythical man that everyone in the family spoke of with such reverence. A say mythical because he was my only uncle I had never met only because he lived and worked overseas. I was fortunate enough to get to spend time with him and Aunt Shelley later in my life. I could listen to him talk all day however he was quiet and very modest about his accomplishments. Most of the time he spoke about others, especially his mom and what she accomplished with almost nothing. I know he helped many family members over the years and he would never mention it. I also believe he served his country even after Korea and we will never know of that because he would never speak of it. Men like Uncle Ron no longer exist. He will be missed greatly! I will miss him very much. I am so grateful I got to know him. Rest well it is well deserved!

  5. CandleImageR.I.P. big brother. You and I were very different. Perhaps it was because I was the youngest and you were the second born, or was it because I like to talk and you were the strong silent type. However different our personalities were I hope you know how much I loved you, respected you, and admired you. You always made sure Mom was taken care of and we all appreciated that. She loved you so much and she was so proud of you. I know she was there to welcome you into heaven. I will miss you calling me Landi, you were the only one of my siblings who used that nickname. It made me feel special. I know you are flying with angels.
You will always be in my heart ❤️
    Landi
