Ruth Prather Taylor

Ruth Aldora Prather Taylor of Douglasville Ga formerly of Dekalb Ga passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 30, 2020. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years J.W. (Buster) Taylor. father Emory V. Prather, mother Willie Goins Prather, brother Robert (Bob) Prather, sister Harriett Prather Taylor and husband Jewel, granddaughter Holly Ann Taylor and grandson Sam Reed. Ruth is survived by her son Douglas W. Taylor and wife Donna, granddaughter Shelly Taylor Ford and husband David, granddaughter Terrie Lynn Salinas and husband John, grandson Fred Reed and wife Chrystal. 8 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister in law Betty Williams Prather and several nieces and nephews. In her younger years she was a Secretary for an Atlanta Law Firm and later a homemaker and member of Bethel Baptist Church in Stone Mountain. She also attended Beulah Baptist Church in Douglasville, Ga. and Praise Tabernacle in Powder Springs Ga. Ruth’s family will receive friends on January 31, 2020, from 5-7:pm, at Wages and Son Funeral Home, located at 1040 Main St., Stone Mountain Ga. Ruth will lie in state at Bethel Baptist Church located on 1147 Panola Road, Stone Mountain, GA. on Saturday February 1, 2020 at 3:00 and funeral will take place at 3:30pm.
