I was so very sad to hear of this tragic news. I have many memories of working with Scott at Irwin. He was a great support and kept us laughing. My heart goes out to his family and friends. I pray for your comfort and peace and may you find strength in memories.
A tribute to a loving husband and loving father whose short but wonderful presence on earth shall be remembered for all eternity.
Scott,
It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other, but I never would have thought your time in this lifetime would end so prematurely. You definitely provided lots of laughs and fun times, and I enjoyed spending time with you and Emily. You were always who I referred to as the “teacher who made it”! Thankfully, you will live on through Briggs and I hope that gives Emily some comfort during this unimaginable time.
We met Scott through daycare as Briggs was in the same Infant classroom as our daughter Julia. Because of COVID we only got to briefly wave at other parents at drop off / pick up. Scott somehow made those little interactions memorable from our first awkward hello. Briggs, your papa was so very friendly. Our conversations often centered around his love for cars and how my husband convinced me to let him indulge in cars and how he could get your mama to do the same so he could share that excitement with you. The last time we spoke he went out of his way to offer an extra toddler bike helmet that you didn’t need so Julia could enjoy the great outdoors as well. When he handed off the helmet he excitedly told me about his whole bike and trailer set up and how the two of you enjoyed your outdoors time to and from school.
I am so sad to learn of Scott’s passing. My prayers go out to Emily, Briggs and the Bowens and Adams families. I got to know Scott through our working together and we became friends. Just recently I was joking with him about “joining the club” of parenthood, and we laughed, but he also couldn’t be any happier. We talked recently about the Bills playoff run and he was so excited. I was happy for him as he was such a fan of his team. We once went to a Bills/Patriots game and had so much fun. I have many fond memories and I will miss you, Scott.
I wish Kyle, Brennan & I had had more time to get to know you better. Emily has been a dear friend of mine for a long time and when I saw her with you, Scott, I knew she had found the person that would bring her the most joy in life. You were taken too soon and will be greatly missed. I am comforted to know that you will continue watching over Emily and Briggs from your new home in heaven.
Emily,
I am so saddened to hear about this awful tragedy. May Scott Rest In Peace. My prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Scott was very determined to do well at his job, very motivated, very smart, and also very funny. I also remember how much he talked about his wife, Emily and how much he loved her. I’m blessed to have had met Scott and he will be very missed.
Emily,
My heart aches for you and Briggs. I know how much you adored Scott. I had the pleasure of seeing y’all’s love first hand at your wedding. I know you will keep the memories of you and Scott tight to share with Briggs throughout his life. Love you and I will be praying for peace in your heart.
Love,
Ross
If I should go tomorrow
It would never be goodbye,
For I have left my heart with you,
So don’t you ever cry.
The love that’s deep within me,
Shall reach you from the stars,
You’ll feel it from the heavens,
And it will heal the scars.
Emily, we love you and are devastated by the news. We will all be here for you and your little one. Daphne and Larry Key
Scott was one of the most helpful people that I have ever met not only in my career but personally. He had a great sense of humor and such love for Emily & Briggs. I’ll never forget Scott, as I know so many others won’t either.
I love you buddy!
I don’t think I ever expressed just how grateful I was to have you in my life. You were always the first to offer help to anyone and were absolutely selfless. I loved hearing you talk about Briggs and Emily, because it was so apparent how much you loved them both. You were an incredible friend, father, husband, teammate etc and we all miss you so much.

To Scott’s family our deepest sympathies and condolances.
I would like to share my deepest sympathy to the entire family and share that Scott was one of our favorite members at Fetch. We will miss him very much and miss reminding him how many times my Cowboys took the Bills to the woodshed in the 90’s. Please bring Tuna back to the park soon!
I had the pleasure of meeting you Scott a few times in North Carolina, and then being there to celebrate your marriage together with Emily. While life and time take us in many directions and it has been some time since I’d seen you, you are a memorable person, full of joy and a desire to experience life. Emily, may you always carry Scott, your memories together, and his love for you with you. I can’t imagine the pain you are feeling having lost him too soon. My thoughts are with you.
Dear Emily and all of Scott’s Beloved Family and my friend Deanne: I am deeply, deeply saddened by this sudden and tragic loss of a beautiful husband, new dad and family man all around. My heart and arms are wrapping around you from afar. May his memory be a blessing to you all. With great love and sympathy, Jane Provan
Sincerely
Muir Family
It has been years since I talked with Scott but so many memories of my formative school years include him. I wish you peace and strength as you process this loss. May your memories bring you comfort.
