Susan Mary Ritchie

Susan Mary Ritchie, age 71, of Lawrenceville, GA went to Heaven on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 after a brief battle with metastatic pancreatic cancer.

She is survived by her husband of 50+ years Dennis; son Steven; daughter Sandra (Wayne) Oxford; grandkids Scott and Evelyn Oxford; brothers Michael (Sandy) Byokawski, Thomas (Donna) Clark, Timothy (Catherina) Clark, and Christopher (Soledad) Clark; siblings-in-law Marsha Byokawski, David (Lori) Ritchie, Janet Ritchie, and Linda (Russell) Mason; aunt Jo-Anne Hanophy; and countless cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Susie loved her family more than anything in the world; one way that she expressed that love to them was by cooking many Italian dishes at Christmastime, baking coffee cakes for holiday mornings, and creating unique cakes for birthdays. She also enjoyed going to Walt Disney World and playing Scrabble and card games with relatives, watching The Wizard of Oz, Ben-Hur, and Jeopardy, and rooting for the Atlanta Braves, the Miami Dolphins, and the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets. Susie will be remembered for her bubbly personality and wonderful sense of humor inherited from her family.

Sue enjoyed working as a bank teller and a mortgage loan processor for many years, but then she retired to spend time with her grandchildren. When they got older, she volunteered at their elementary school. Over the years, her kind-heartedness for others continued, consistently baking treats for the teachers, contributing cans for food drives, and donating to her favorite charities to find cures for diseases and helping families in need. Sue’s warm smile made a friend out of anyone she met, so please smile when you think of her in fondness and love.
