Mr. Sydney Prince AKA The Mighty El-Cid, passed away of natural causes, in Stone Mountain, GA on Wednesday, December 07,2016 at the age of 73. Sydney was born on May 07, 1943 in Georgetown Guyana. He was one of ten children. Sydney Prince achieved stardom as “The Mighty El-Cid” one of the greatest calypsonians in Guyana, known for songs such as “Local Dish, Dingolay, & albums like From New York to Georgetown”. The only thing Sydney loved more was his family and friends. His love for music resonates not only in him but was passed down to his children as well. Sydney Prince is survived by his sons Shawn Prince and Anthony Prince; daughter, Natasha Prince; grandchildren Heaven, Nia, Riley, NeVaeh, Rayne, and Kennedy. brothers Ivor & Michael; sisters Liza and Jean; and his nieces and nephews including Eusi Prince. A viewing of the body will be available to the public at Wages and Sons Funeral Home December 15th 2016 from between the hours of 11 and 2p.m. The family is grateful for the condolences.
